Freedom Education Foundation was founded to serve the rural communities of Moshi District and beyond. Families who are willing to work, learn, and grow, but who face real barriers: school fees they can’t afford, land that’s harder to farm each year, and a safety net that doesn’t quite reach far enough.
Every family deserves the tools to build their own way forward.
Quality Education
We keep children in school through scholarships, school supplies, uniforms, and repairs to the classrooms they learn in. Because a good education is still the surest way out of generational poverty.
Basic Human Needs
For families getting by without steady income, we help by providing access to daily essentials such as food, medical equipment, menstrual products and mental health support.
Economic Empowerment
We give families a head start toward income of their own. Livestock to raise and breed, plus support connecting young people to employment opportunities. It’s not a handout, it’s a foothold.

A career worth the climb.
Josie used to earn $2 a day carrying packs up Kilimanjaro. Today, she’s one of the few female guides on the mountain, and also runs her own sewing business. She contributes to our Sisterhood Project by helping sew reusable menstrual kits that allow girls to stay in school.
